Get involved: Protect our Wildlands and Waters from PolyMet's Sulfide Mine!
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has released the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Polymet’s proposed NorthMet Mine near Hoyt Lakes. The proposal threatens Minnesota's water, air, forests and wild lands. In every other state where this type of sulfide mining has occurred, the result has been a perfect record of toxic water pollution and environmental destruction.
Collecting a large number of comments will be critical to demonstrate the depth of public concern about the project, and to highlight the inadequacies of the SDEIS, which fails to fully address the impact of the proposed mine.
Will you sign up to be a "comment captain," to involve your friends and neighbors in sharing their concern? We'll send you a toolkit and more info.
