1) Rebuild and Renew America: Pass President Obama's Budget The Budget outline submitted to Congress by President Obama represents a blueprint for the fundamental change that Americans overwhelmingly voted for in November.
The budget builds upon the clean energy and green infrastructure programs initiated through the landmark American Recovery and Reinvestment Act by committing America to the major, long-term investments we need to build the new energy economy. It directs critically needed resources to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy and provides significant funding boosts to all our nation's Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Agencies. But perhaps most importantly the budget assumes revenues (beginning in 2012) from the auction of global warming pollution allowances under a federal cap-and-trade system -- a signal that President Obama is seriously committed to working with Congress to pass strong, comprehensive climate and energy legislation as soon as possible.
Please urge your Member of Congress to support passage of President Obama's budget -- especially his bold plans on climate and energy.
2) Take Action: Tell Congress to Repower America with Renewable Energy Last month, President Obama’s economic recovery plan took the first step toward repowering America with renewable energy by providing critical investments for clean energy. Now we need a national commitment to renewable energy that will continue to rebuild our economy and help fight global warming. The American Renewable Energy Act (H.R. 890) will require utilities to generate 25 percent of their electricity from wind, solar, geothermal and other renewable energy sources. This will create jobs, save consumers money, and reduce global warming pollution.
Congress is moving fast to put together climate and energy legislation. Make sure this critical policy is included by asking your representative to cosponsor the American Renewable Energy Act today.

3) Ashley Judd: Speaking Out Against Devastating Mining Film star Ashley Judd grew up in Appalachia and has seen first hand how mountaintop removal coal mining is destroying some of the oldest mountains in the world and threatening the way of life for local communities.
Now, a recent bad court decision might mean up to 100 new mountaintop removal coal mine permits in Appalachia, so Ashley Judd is asking the Obama administration to take action to stop the devastating practice.
Watch her video and join her in asking the Obama administration for an end to mountaintop removal coal mining.
