3) Victory: Coal Plants Down Then in Montana, thanks in part of the efforts of Sierra Club activists and concerned citizens, proponents of the Highwood coal-fired power plant in Montana announced yesterday that they are dropping the project. The electric cooperative plans to invest in cleaner energy alternatives, including wind, instead. This week's decisions come on the heels of the Air Force's finding that a new liquid coal plant planned for Malmstrom Air Force Base, also in Montana, was "not viable." 4) MR-GO: Going in the Right Direction For more information read the Sierra Club report, School of Big Storms.
