1) Take Action: Support the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Cleaner, smarter energy solutions are central to driving economic recovery and growth. The House could vote as soon as Wednesday on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act -- a bill that recognizes the vital role of jobs created through clean energy investments.
Generating more renewable energy, reducing our dependency on oil, restoring our waterways and parks and funding green infrastructure projects are all essential to securing a better future.
Tell Congress to support the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act!
2) Take Action: Protect America's Wild Legacy The House will soon vote on a bill to protect more than 2 million acres of wilderness, 1000 miles of wild and scenic rivers, and forever preserve some of our country’s most important wild icons.
This bill brings an incredible opportunity to expand the National Wilderness Preservation System -- the greatest expansion in 15 years.
Tell your Representative to vote YES to protecting our wild legacy!
3) Clean Slate Victory: Shifting to Clean Cars President Obama yesterday directed the Environmental Protection Agency to take action on granting California's clean car waiver. California is one of fifteen states that had been prevented from implementing clean car laws by the Bush administration. Yesterday's move brings us one step closer to a "Clean Slate" energy agenda that will help create demand for clean energy technologies that can create new jobs, while fighting global warming.
The President also signaled yesterday that his administration will be increasing fuel economy standards in the coming months as well.
4) Update: Repower, Rebuild, Refuel America We have urged Obama to take immediate action on our Clean Slate agenda to address global warming. Thanks in part to your help, significant progress is already being made and we applaud his efforts to make clean energy a top priority.
Please continue to help us build momentum towards Obama's goals to jumpstart a clean energy economy, curb global warming pollution and Repower, Rebuild, and Refuel America.
