Are high gas prices putting a drain on your wallet? Making our vehicles go farther on a gallon of gas is the biggest single step we can take to save money at the pump, cut our dependence on oil and help curb global warming. Yet the Department of Transportation is using unrealistically low gas price estimates to set weak fuel economy standards.
3) Honor: Former Sierra Club Director Honored U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer have proposed to rename the peak to honor Brower for his decades of leadership in protecting and championing the environment. 4) Victory: Environmental Justice This legislation is necessary to reverse the all too common trend of targeting people of color and low-income communities in the siting of industrial zones, refineries and power plants, helping to protect these communities from being disproportionately burdened by pollution.
