The Engaged Sierran - 2014 Election Edition
NH Sierra Club urges you to VOTE in the extremely important November 4 election.
Your commitment to vote in this election is critical. None of the races are going to be easy, and your vote WILL count. Make the commitment to show up at the polls (or order an absentee ballot now), and make a plan for election day:
- Are you registered where you currently reside?
- Where do you vote?
- How will you get there?
- What time will you go?
- What is your contingency plan?
Again, we can't stress enough how critical these races are for the future of environmental issues in New Hampshire.
Get Involved
There are only a few days left to get involved with a candidate's campaign. The Environmental Champions need YOU to talk to voters: make phone calls, canvass, show up at candidate events, and hold signs.
Contact us for the coordinated campaign office in your area. Marnie (marni.salmon@sierraclub.org) will let you know the address for the office in your community. They will welcome you aboard! Please let the campaign know you are a Sierra Club member, and wear your swag (hats, t-shirts, buttons). Our support of the candidates keeps the Sierra Club agenda on the front burner!
The New Hampshire Chapter has endorsed candidates across all the races.
Visit the national Sierra Club's Politics and Elections page for more election-year information!
From the Political Committee Chair and our NH Chapter President...
Your vote on November 4 is absolutely critical. We need to elect senators and representatives who know climate change is real, and know we need to act. If we don't go to the polls, extremists like former House Speaker Bill O'Brien will repeal REGGI and block sensible energy legislation in the State House in Concord. In Washington, if climate deniers continue to block legislation in Congress and support Big Oil and Coal, smart solutions will see more delays. We cannot let that happen again. Be sure to vote this November, and better yet, get engaged now and bring a friend with you to the polls--it matters!
