Take Action: Say 'No' to Secret Trade Negotiations
The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Ron Kirk is negotiating an expansive Free Trade Agreement among countries in the Pacific Rim. The Agreement, called the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), will have broad implications for our climate and the environment, the rights of workers, and more. Yet it is being negotiated in complete secrecy. Sign our petition calling on USTR Ron Kirk to publicly release all TPP proposals now! |

Take Action: Tell President Obama to Clean Up Fracking
The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) proposed standards to limit air pollution from natural gas fracking are a big first step in protecting our health from the dangerous stew of pollution that fracked wells pour into our air. EPA is about to release those protections, but the gas industry is pushing to delay these safeguards and fill them with loopholes. Tell President Obama to stand up to lobbyists, say no to loopholes, and put the health of our communities first! |

Grassroots Activism: Reforesting Appalachia's Mountains
The Sierra Club is spear-heading the largest-ever reforestation of abandoned mine lands in Kentucky. Over two March weekends in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, hundreds of volunteers including a large Sierra Club contingent launched this major project. Nearly 350,000 trees -- all native hardwood species -- will be planted over the next three years on 250 acres that had been strip-mined in Pike County. |

Grassroots Activism: Protecting Giant Sequoias
California's 328,000-acre Giant Sequoia National Monument is home to half of all the giant sequoia trees left in the world, serves as vital wildlife habitat, and is a source of enjoyment and recreation for thousands of visitors each year. These majestic trees are threatened by climate change and poor management policies -- but thankfully they have some powerful Sierra Club activists like Joe Fontaine speaking up for their protection. |
