Take Action: "What the Frack Is in Your Water?"
Did you know the natural gas industry does not have to disclose what chemicals are used in fracking? The natural gas industry is exempt from the Safe Drinking Water Act. This loophole means that the chemicals used in fracking -- including sulfuric acid, lead, benzene, and hydrochloric acid -- are kept secret from the public, as well as from state and federal regulators like the EPA. Tell EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to close this loophole and require full disclosure of chemicals used in fracking. |

Grassroots Activism: It's Always Sunny in Minnesota
On March 5, the Sierra Club's North Star Chapter delivered more than 6,000 postcards to Governor Mark Dayton in support of building more solar power and a clean energy economy in Minnesota. The North Star Chapter is part of the Solar Works for Minnesota coalition, a group of businesses, consumers, labor groups, solar-energy companies, and clean-energy advocates who believe in a bright and sunny "Land of 10,000 Lakes." |

Grassroots Activism: Fighting a Road to Nowhere
Alaska Native activists are fighting roads for oil and gas development in the state's Arctic region -- calling them "roads to nowhere." The latest fight is against a road to Umiat, which would cut through prized subsistence hunting and fishing grounds.
