Take Action: Make the Call for Better Transportation
Next week the House of Representatives will consider a transportation bill that would fund our nation's roads, bridges, and transit systems in the coming years. Unfortunately, House leadership has hijacked the transportation bill and turned it into a wish list for Big Oil. Take Action: Don't Support Coal in India
The U.S. Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im) is recklessly considering financing not one, but two enormous and risky coal projects in India with your tax dollars. We've seen firsthand how the bank's previous venture into Indian coal projects went. The huge Sasan plant - the size of eight average U.S. plants - was rife with corruption, violence, and a complete lack of accountability. Now the bank is considering two more of these projects despite the environmental destruction, fierce local opposition, and financial risk they pose. Tell the U.S. Ex-Im Bank you don't want tax dollars going to international coal projects. |
