Take Action: Don't Let Mining Corporations Take Your Public Lands
This Thursday, a Senate committee will be holding a hearing on the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act. This bill would give away almost 2,500 acres of Forest Service land in Arizona to a foreign-owned company to turn into one of the largest copper mines in the country. Tell your Senator to oppose this public lands giveaway. |

Take Action: We've Been Slimed
Everyone loves vacationing in Florida, but toxic pollution has turned the Sunshine State’s water into a slimy mess. This problem requires a strong national response. Together we can make sure that President Obama acts quickly on this issue and enforces pollution limits that will help clean up the slime and make our water cleaner and safer. Tell President Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency to reject Florida's weak state plan and instead take strong action to clean up the water. |

Grassroots Activism: Comments Against Coal
Sierra Club Resilient Habitats organizer Tim Wagner and more than 30 other activists turned up at the Bureau of Land Management's office in Salt Lake City, Utah, last week to hand-deliver more than 210,000 comments. The comments are from Americans who want the BLM to not allow coal mining near Bryce Canyon National Park. The action earned this great photo essay and article in the Salt Lake Tribune. |
