Take Action: Tell the EPA to Get Serious About Factory Farm Pollution Protections
Large factory farms produce more than 300 million tons of manure each year, much of which ends up in our water. Despite the serious health and environmental threats from this pollution, most factory farms don’t comply with clean water protections. The Environmental Protection Agency doesn’t even know where all the factory farms are located, how much waste they produce, or how the waste is stored and used. Tell the EPA to gather comprehensive information on factory farms so our families and waterways can be adequately protected from factory farm pollution. |

Wild Legacy: Conservation and Climate
Represented by Lands Team Senior Representative Catherine Semcer and volunteer leader Marion Klaus, the Sierra Club recently had the honor of being featured at The Wildlife Society’s annual meeting. Semcer delivered a plenary speech on safeguarding our natural resources in the face of climate disruption, and the Resilient Habitats campaign scientific blueprint for protecting the Pacific Northwest was presented as an example of conservation planning in a changing world. The Wildlife Society is the largest professional organization of wildlife scientists in North America. |
