1) Take Action: Big Polluters Make Us Sick Big polluters like the oil and coal industry are literally making us sick. As if it weren’t enough that pollution from burning oil and coal causes life-threatening health problems (ranging from asthma to early death), now these industries and their friends in Congress are attacking one of our strongest health protections, the Clean Air Act.

2) Take Action: End Our Oil Addiction In his State of the Union Address, President Obama committed to building a world-class transportation system that will create jobs and provide our nation with clean, efficient, and affordable choices. The Obama Administration took the first step on February 8th, when Vice President Biden announced a new high speed rail plan to connect American cities and create much needed construction jobs. |

4) Poll: Americans Want EPA Action, Not Newt Gingrich A new poll shows that Americans aren’t falling for Newt Gingrich’s call to abolish the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In fact, Americans support EPA and its work to protect public health and the environment. Some 67 percent opposed Gingrich’s idea, including 61 percent of Republicans and 79 percent of Democrats. The survey also found that 63 percent of Americans want the current EPA to do more, not less. |
