Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune to Visit BP Disaster Site
Leader of Oldest, Largest Grassroots Environmental Organization in Country to Visit with Those Affected by Disaster and Tour Disaster Site
(New Orleans, LA) – Michael Brune, the Executive Director of the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization, the Sierra Club, will visit New Orleans on Wednesday, May 5, to meet with people affected by the BP Disaster and to see first-hand the devastation caused by the negligence that led to the ongoing catastrophe. Mr. Brune will meet with residents and business people in the morning and will then go on a flyover tour of the disaster site. Mr. Brune will be joined on the flyover by Barry Kohl, the Conservation Chair for the Sierra Club’s New Orleans group and a local expert on oil and gas issues in the Gulf.
