Sierra Club Outlines Plans for Copenhagen
Washington, D.C.—The Sierra Club will be leading a large official delegation to the United Nations climate change summit kicking off next week in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Club's delegation of approximately 50 will include top Sierra Club leadership, policy experts, activists, and a large number of students. Sierra Club will also be undertaking numerous joint activities with its labor and environmental partners in the Blue Green Alliance and other partners in the U.S. Climate Action Network (USCAN). Club officials will be available for media interviews throughout the proceedings. See below for details and contact information.
"This is one of the most important environmental gatherings in history," said Carl Pope, Sierra Club Executive Director. "A strong start in Copenhagen will allow the United States and the world to achieve final, binding domestic and international climate agreements later in 2010. Sierra Club will be working hard to ensure the success of this momentous conference."
