Young Americans Join Congressman Raśl Grijalva to Support the
Public Lands Service Corps
Congressman Raśl Grijalva will join forces with Student Conservation Association crew and Sierra Club young adults to call on Congress to vote in favor of the Public Lands Service Corps Act of 2009, H.R. 1612. Through this legislation the next generation of public land stewards and enthusiasts takes up tools to clear the trail toward green and service-oriented jobs.
WHAT: H.R. 1612 improves opportunities for youth and young adults, particularly those from underserved communities, to gain valuable job skills and to spend time outdoors while providing much-needed services on our nation’s public lands. The bill authorizes Corps participants to work to enhance the resiliency of our public lands in the face of climate change.
