Current licensing practices for new underground aqueous uranium extraction mines do not meet Atomic Energy Act (AEA) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) regulations.  We need improved state laws to ensure safe mining operations and we need to clean up current and potential future contamination from uranium operations.

A bill has been introduced in the Colorado legislature that will establish strong new regulations on licensing new uranium mining techniques and set reporting and clean up requirements. Please take action today to ask your legislators to support SB 14-192.
