Tell the PUC: No new dirty gas plants!
For the first time since 2008, greenhouse gas emissions
increased in 2012. Why? Because of our increasing reliance on dirty gas plants.
When San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station went off line, Southern California
Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric fired up their old and dirty power
plants and emissions in the electric sector went up 35%!
Governor Brown and state regulators are now figuring out
what to do over the long haul about San Onofre. They have a choice: make this setback a minor
blip on the road to a safer climate by relying on clean energy solutions or
lock-in 40 years of new fossil fuels by building huge new polluting gas plants.
Contact the Public
Utilities Commission (CPUC) right now and tell them: we can't afford 40 years
of new carbon spewing power plants!
