It's Time to Protect Our Wild Places

What do the awe-inspiring wonder of the Grand Canyon, the ancient beauty of California's Big Sequoia forests, and the smoldering giant Mount St. Helens all have in common?

These national treasures were all permanently protected as national monuments by a sitting President, and that’s why we are able to enjoy them today.

Now, with Congress so broken, the power that President Obama has to name new national monuments is more important than ever. He has already taken steps in the right direction by naming nine new national monuments -- but there's more to do.
