Tell President Obama to Protect the Greater Canyonlands as a National Monument

For most Coloradans, a short drive is all it takes to reach the Greater Canyonlands -- a spectacular wild place of unparalleled natural beauty and ancient human history that is unlike anything else on the planet.

Unfortunately, this beautiful place remains extremely vulnerable to dirty tar sands development, uranium mining, oil and gas drilling, and illegal off-road vehicle abuse -- practices that we've seen devastate countless western landscapes already.

As a result of shortsighted, pro-polluter protections put in place by the previous administration, the Greater Canyonlands are at a greater risk than ever. National monument status would permanently safeguard this national treasure from industrialization, preserving it for future generations.

Tell President Obama he must use his power to protect the Greater Canyonlands by designating the region a national monument.
