America's Arctic is facing a crisis -- from the Polar Bear Seas to the tundra of the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge, the arctic is under increasing threat from oil
drilling and the effects of climate change.
Wildlife like polar bears, seals and
caribou rely on the Arctic's unique climate and pristine landscape for their
survival. The consequences of an oil spill in this fragile
wilderness would be disastrous, and we can't afford it.
Tell the Obama administration -- now
is the time for them to establish a legacy by protecting this amazing
wilderness and the wildlife that depend on it.

Protect America's Arctic!
Dear President Obama,
We, the undersigned, want strong protections for the special places in America's Arctic, its wildlife and its people. As our climate continues to change and with the Arctic warming faster than any other part of the globe, we must act now to protect habitats for polar bears, beluga whales, seals, caribou, and make sure they have space to roam.We must:- Permanently protect the Polar Bear Seas (theChukchi and Beaufort Seas) from dangerous drilling.- Protect the special areas of the western Arctic(including Teshekpuk Lake, Utukok Uplands, ColvilleRiver and Kasegaluk Lagoon) by expanding andconnecting these core areas so that wildlife has spaceto thrive. Support Alternative B in the BLM IAP.- Permanently protect the coastal plain, the biologicalheart of the Arctic Refuge. Support Wildernessrecommendation in USFWS CCP.While Big Oil and their friends in Congress continue to push for dirty oil and gas development across America's Arctic, we must acknowledge that some places are too special to drill. The Arctic Refuge, special areas in the Western Arctic and the Polar Bear Seas are the jewels of the far north. If we want future generations to enjoy their pristine wilderness and majestic wildlife, we must protect these places now!
