Thank You Clayton Board of Commissioners!

Clayton County MARTA campaign victory
Clayton residents rejoice after 3-1
vote to put MARTA on ballot.

This week, Clayton County faced the most important decision in its recent history--deciding whether to place a MARTA referendum on the ballot this November. Further, Commissioners had to answer whether voters should decide on a full or half-penny sales tax, weighing several factors including investment in a commuter rail line connecting Atlanta to Lovejoy.

Now, Clayton is in a unique position to capitalize on the investment a full penny for transit would bring. For example, rail service on the long-discussed Atlanta-Lovejoy corridor would generate many opportunities for positive local impact, serving as the backbone for economic activity throughout the county, and tying together several of Clayton's key assets. Bus and rail will help create the type of walkable, transit-focused communities that are increasingly in demand today.

By embracing the full penny, Clayton will take the lead in multimodal transportation investment, thus becoming a model for the region and state to follow.  Please thank Clayton County Commissioners for their leadership and vision on transit in Clayton County!

Dear [Decision Maker],

Thank you again for your leadership and vision on transit in Clayton County!

Sincerely,
