Take Action to Stop the Tar Sands Expansion in Wisconsin!

Canadian pipeline company Enbridge is proposing to double the capacity of the Alberta Clipper pipeline that runs across northern Minnesota and Wisconsin to transport 800,000 barrels of tar sands oil per day.  This will connect to Line 61 in Wisconsin and will travels from Superior to Flanagan, IL, putting our major waterways at risk. The Department of Natural Resources is considering an air permit for the line.

We need all hands on deck to send an overwhelming message: our lakes, rivers, and climate are too valuable to sacrifice in the name of corporate profits. Urge the DNR to reject the permit and do a full Environmental Assessment today! Comment deadline is May 18

Dear Mr. Faith,

The proposed expansion for Enbridge Energy's Line 61 pipeline poses serious and severe risks for Wisconsin. I am writing to you today to urge you to reject the application for an air permit and instead the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources should conduct a full Environmental Impact Statement of the pipeline expansion. All effects on Wisconsin's air and water should be considered before an expansion is allowed.

Our lakes, rivers, and climate are too valuable to sacrifice in the name of corporate profits. Thank you for listening to my comments. Again, I urge you to reject the application for an air permit and instead conduct a full Environmental Impact Statement. I look forward to hearing your response.

Sincerely,
