Urge Your Senator to vote YES on SB 1171

You can help fight climate change here in Pennsylvania today!

State Senator Daylin Leach has introduced a bill to increase the amount of electricity provided by renewable sources to 15% by 2023. Even better, it would prioritize solar energy produced in Pennsylvania!

Climate change is a big problem, but the solutions are simple -- invest in homegrown renewable energy that creates jobs for Pennsylvania families and stimulates a growing industry. To make that happen we need to let our elected officials know there's strong public demand to get Senator Leach's bill passed!

Will you email your state senator urging them to co-sponsor Senator Leach's bill?

Dear [Decision Maker],

I am writing to urge you to take action to stimulate investment in clean energy in Pennsylvania, to create jobs and address climate disruption. Please add your name as a cosponsor to Senator Leach's Bill, SB 1171, which would amend our Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards (AEPS) law to increase Pennsylvania's commitment to renewable energy.

We have seen renewable energy projects in Pennsylvania create good family-sustaining jobs in the wind and solar industries, as a result of the stimulus created by the original passage of the AEPS in 2005. However, since that time, many of our neighboring states have adopted significantly stronger requirements and incentives for renewable energy, while we have languished. As a result, the good green jobs created by our AEPS are being lost to states like New Jersey, Delaware and New York.

It's time to get back on track by improving and expanding clean energy to deliver even more far-reaching benefits for Pennsylvanians' businesses, workers, air, water, and health. Please co-sponsor and commit to support SB 1171.
