Become a citizen co-sponsor of the Government by the People Act

The same special interests which pollute our air, water, and climate are the same ones that are polluting our democracy. But we have an opportunity to change this. On February 5, 2014, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and John Sarbanes introduced the Government by the People Act, which would make it possible for a member of Congress to turn down lobbyists' bundled checks and fancy $5,000-a-plate fundraisers in favor of collecting money in smaller amounts from people like you and me.

Already, the Government by the People Act has 130 sponsors in Congress. Besides that, over 30 progressive, labor, and good government organizations have endorsed the bill -- including Sierra Club and the NAACP. By signing on as a citizen co-sponsor, you'll show your member of Congress that you stand on the side of getting big money out of politics. By continuing this pressure, we can make reforms a reality and help keep government accountable to the people, not to the people who fund elections.

Get big money out, and get people in. Become a citizen co-sponsor of the Government by the People Act.
