Tell OG&E to Move Beyond Coal and Invest in Clean Energy

The time to speak up is now. OG&E is in the middle of determining how to comply with federal health and environmental safeguards. They can upgrade their coal plants with pollution controls or they can retire them on a reasonable timeline and replace them with cleaner energy. This decision affects all Oklahomans and our voices should be heard.

Coal is becoming increasingly more expensive and the cost will only continue to rise. The damage to health and the environment are unnecessary costs to bear when you have alternative options for producing electricity as Oklahoma does.

Each year, OG&E is sending around $320 million dollars to Wyoming to purchase coal, when we have plenty of clean energy resources to meet our needs right here at home.
