Your quick comments can help save 171,000 acres of remaining wildlands near Grand Junction, please send by June 24!

The BLM Grand Junction Field Office conducted an inventory for "Lands with Wilderness Characteristics" (LWCs) and identified only 12 areas (roughly 171,000 acres) as LWCs, out of the 31 areas considered (roughly 390,000 acres).

These 12 remaining units encompass critical wildlife habitats, migration corridors, and scenic gems for quiet recreation. Thus, we feel that every unit contained in the 12 LWCs in Alternative C deserves to be designated and managed as an LWC in BLM's final plan.
