Defend Clean Energy in Connecticut!

A bill that would hurt Connecticut's economy and weaken support for wind and solar energy is being voted on this week!

The bill would encourage importing Canadian hydroelectric power to help meet Connecticut’s clean energy needs. By making Canadian hydroelectric a "class one" source of electricity under the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), it would receive the status normally reserved for wind and solar, and limit real clean energy development in Connecticut.

We should be maximizing our investments in regional clean energy sources like wind and solar power that will create jobs and boost our economy here at home and at a time when we need it the most. But if this bill passes, we'll be sending our energy dollars out of state and losing the opportunity to develop local clean energy jobs here in Connecticut.

Send a message to your legislature today letting them know you oppose legislation to weaken policies that support wind and solar energy in Connecticut.
